Leader's Guide for the Builder

Understanding the Builder

Builder business type is passionate about the product and excited to invite others to join them as a petPro. They usually have a mid-level income vision at first of around $500+ a month but are also excited about the potential for that growing to $1,000+ a month in the future. They see this business as a side gig and may also relate to the term affiliate and/or influencer, and see inviting others who relate to those terms as part of this business path. A Builder is likely to see social media platforms as well as person-to-person marketing as viable paths to growing their income.

While excited to invite others, a Builder just starting may be hesitant to ask others right away for a few reasons, all of which can be mitigated by some guidance from you.

  • If they feel they need to learn how to sell well before inviting others, let them know that this is understandable but that you’re here to step in and guide the people who join them initially.
  • If they feel they aren’t ready to guide others, remind them that you’re here to show them how and do it with them at first.

Core Business Steps for the Builder

For a Fast Start Builder - guide them towards this core business building process:

  • Have 3 people who identify as Sellers or Builders join them as petPros early in their business launch.
  • Help those 3 build their sales to $1,000 a month.
  • Help those who identify as Builders start inviting others to join right away.
  • RESULT: Promote to Sr. Director before the end of their Fast Start Period.

Beyond the Fast Start period - guide them to repeat the building process consistently.

  • Continue to follow the same ‘building’ process.
    • Always be working with at least 3 Level 1 Fast Start petPros who identify as Sellers or Builders.
    • Help them grow their sales to $1,000 or more a month.
    • Help the Builders work with 3 personally sponsored petPros in this same way so they promote to Sr. Director.
  • Repeating this process consistently is the best way to guide a Builder from Sr. Director to Executive Director to VP.

Guiding the Builder

The Builder needs guidance on both sharing products successfully and inviting others to join them. It's important for them to have a simple process to follow and avoid overwhelming them with too much at first. Their primary need for guidance in their first few weeks is to help them engage in the 3-step process right away and engage in the core business steps mentioned above.

  1. Check-in Chats: While messaging chats are a natural communication tool for Builders, strongly encourage phone or in-person conversations. Phone chats are the best way to get a Builder on track to reach their goals sooner rather than later. You can adjust the frequency as you get to know them better.
  2. Goal-Getting Accountability: Use the Fast Start Rewards along with the information you gathered from the defining conversations to set up the level of goal-getting accountability they desire. Use the check-in chats for accountability conversations like:
    • Conversation List - Who are they having conversations with and how can you help with that? This includes messaging conversations that may be a result of social marketing conversations.
    • Reaching new customer goals to meet income expectations
    • Reaching new petPro enrollment goals to meet title advancement goals. Use the Fast Start title rewards as a motivating factor to get more inviting conversations in the works.
  3. Training: Make sure they know where to find training that’s more relevant to their business type.
    • The 3-Step Process (a series of conversations for in-person marketing and social marketing)
    • Social Selling Training Hub in pTU
    • Fast Start Training in pTU
    • Weekly Workshops for social selling tips and content creation
    • Product Knowledge Course
    • Marketing Accelerator Training Hub in pTU
  4. Resources: Be sure they know where to find and log in to the resources most helpful to them:
    • The petPro Library to grab social sharing assets
    • The pawTree App
    • Home Office emails - Be sure they know to look for relevant and timely information and to not unsubscribe.
    • Fast Start Report (specifically to help guide their personally sponsored petPros)
    • Prospect Report
  5. Community: Invite them to your team groups and chats as well as the company group(s) for petPros.

pawTree makes no promises or guarantees regarding earning additional income or any other earnings opportunity.  The success or failure of each PetPro, like any other business opportunity, depends on your own skills and personal effort.

The financial results of all PetPros for the preceding year under the existing compensation plan are contained in the pawTree Income Disclosure chart that can be found here, which does not include PetPro costs.
